Chilling with Indonique Masala Chai

Tonight I had the pleasure of drinking some really fine Masala Chai. I enjoy most chai and will usually make it with just boiling water. Preparing chai traditionally by simmering in milk is fantastic, but I’m usually without the milk or don’t feel like taking the extra step.

However, after I opened the box of Masala Chai from Indonique I felt compelled to prepare this cup correctly. My beautiful fiancee Nadine volunteered to whip this up for both of us.

Traditional Chai is made by simmering tea in a saucepan with milk for a specific amount of time. Nadine did this and also added a few extra spices of her own including a slice of ginger, crushed cardamom pods, whole cloves, cinnamon and sugar to taste.

She simmered all of this until the color turned brown. Stove top is the best way but you can also make it for 2-3 min in the microwave.

After this, she strained all of the herbal goodness from the chai and we had a delecious treat for a cold winter night.

I’m not sure how I feel about my tea only brandishing a 7.5 cup rating, as it was most assuredly a 10.
