I only really started getting into tea this past winter. When the temperature was dropping tea was always there as a perfect companion to keep me warm. As the months have gotten warmer and warmer and more disgustingly humid, I’ve found myself drinking less tea. Sometimes I turn my fan onto full blast at work and try to get a cross ventilation going with my neighbor’s fan to cool my little cubicle off thinking it will make my tea drinking more enjoyable.
I need more tea in me. I know that iced tea is very enjoyable and a great summer tea beverage, but the problem for me is three-fold:
One-fold: I’m not really sure what flavors would taste good as iced tea. (I’ve tried blueberry rooibos as iced and it was really good but took me a while to make… which brings me to my next point.)
Two-fold: I don’t really know a good method of making iced tea. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it is what it is.
Three-fold: I enjoy the process of making tea. It’s relaxing and cathartic. But I think making iced tea is too many steps and I don’t know how I feel about that.
I’m reaching out to you, whoever that may be, to offer up some suggestions and tips on making iced tea and what to drink.
As a small token of my appreciation, I’ve provided this link for your viewing enjoyment.
Great. Now I want to buy a seersucker jacket with matching shorts.

I use a very simple method to make my favorite teas iced –
I brew up a big pot of tea, let it steep for the normal amount of time, then, let the tea cool down to room temp.
After it’s reached normal room temp, I stick the tea in the fridge and let it chill!
Try cold brewing. Just add tea to cold water and leave in the fridge for a day or two. I have yet to try it, but my tea guru advises that this is the best way.
I also enjoy a nice iced tisane during the summer months. Just steep some mint leaves and/or your herb(s) of choice. Then refrigerate. I’m not sure if cold brewing will work, but its worth a shot.
Just make the tea twice as strong as usual, using twice as much leaves to steep. Then when it’s made pour it over ice in the cup. Voila! It’s done. Nothing complicated.
