PG Tips and Sticky Toffee Pudding

You'd like to have some tea?One thing I have to get out in the open right away is that I’m a nut for loose leaf tea.  I love tea of all kinds.  However, I am not the heir of some Indian tea plantation or a total maniac, so I am willing to admit that the adoption of Loose Leaf Tea was a mature and somewhat recent discovery in my life of drinking tea.  As I’m sure other TCM members can attest  the life of tea usually begins with a bag.

Either it was good ol Lipton, Celestial Seasonings, Stash, Twinnings, or a score of other big brands that we find infiltrating our daily supermarket.  The traditional “bag” tea is how I started many a day for many a year.  Now, I’ve been on the enlightened path of drinking loose leaf tea for over ten years now.  That being said, I’m not one of those people that shuns bagged tea or forgets his past.  I will still occasionally drink bagged tea.  Usually, it’s because I’m on vacation and yes, I’m freaky enough to bring tea with me on Holiday, but not so freaky it needs to be loose leafed.  Although friends of mine still recall and mock my first visit to NYC, wherein I packed my teapot and at least 6 strains of my favorite loose leaf tea.  I typically will go to the market and load up on bagged teas if I’m going to be away from home for a while.

And then there is the beloved PG Tips.  PG Tips is essentially the crack tea of Britain and is as common across the pond as Lipton is here in the states.  I will still drink PG tips occasionally in the morning, and if I’m feeling particularly British nothing beats a cold night than have a warm mug of  PG Tips with Sticky Toffee Pudding.Sticky toffee pudding

Good lord, I’m not going into Sticky Toffee Pudding because frankly that’s a topic for another blog.  Just know that my Fiance made some for me the other night and I’m in heaven.  Those of you who are familiar with Sticky Toffee Pudding know exactly what I’m talking about.
