Rooibos

Rooibos

As I drink more and more teas, each blend’s unique taste becomes more apparent to me. For instance, lemongrass has a strong tart punch to it, while mint tea has a sharp crispness in it’s taste. A somewhat new introduction into my steady rotation I teas is Rooibos Tea . As you may or may not know, Rooibos is a red African bush and not a tea, so it is decaffeinated. Rooibos is Afrikaans for the red bush and is known to be good to help with allergies and digestion.

So on to the good stuff, my review of this most noble of teas.  The scent is very subtle, sorta reminds me of caramel and leather for some odd reason.  But the taste is something else; it’s got such a unique taste and is very smooth going down.  It’s not too bitter or sweet but just in the middle in terms of tea-ocity (don’t even think about it.  I trademark that stuff.) and works incredibly well in a blend.

Two of our favorite blends here at TCM are the rooibos/mint blend and the rooibos/chamomile blend, both awesome ways to infuse a subtle tea with some sharp mint and some sweet chamomile flower.  Overall, I would say Rooibos is up there for me just due to its simplicity and ease in taste plus it makes for a good blending ingredient.

Check out Adagio for some awesome Rooibos blends as well as plenty of other kinds of tea.

Cheers!

I’ve tried a few teas from Adagio and they’ve all been good, so I can reccomend them.
